TOP 10 COMMON QUESTIONS

1) Whats the best E-cig?

Well, it depends on your needs.

The two main style of systems are what we call Mouth-to-Lung (MTL) and Direct Lung (DL).
The way you inhale on these are different as the MTL systems offer a tighter draw than DL systems and feel more similar to a traditional cigarette.

These MTL systems typically used a lower power compared to DL and produce less vapour, so a higher nicotine strength is usually used in these.  The benefits of using a MTL is your liquid consumption will remain low and your battery will typically last longer (depending on the size of your battery of course).

DL systems are usually bigger, they offer more power so a larger battery is needed, and also a larger capacity tank helps, as using more power will use up more liquid!  Most people use lower nicotine level in these devices, as anything higher than 6mg can be a bit too strong!

The benefits of using a DL system: a more intense flavour and for a lot of people, blowing out more vapour is a lot more satisfying for them.

We highly recommend stopping by your local vape store and ask to try both systems and see which one you prefer!

2) What are the health benefits of E-cigs.

Traditional tobacco products (including cigarettes) produce smoke.  As the smoke cools down, it produces tar and carcinogens.  Electronic cigarettes vapourise nicotine rather than burning tobacco. It’s not completely safe, but at the E-cigarette summit last year a panel of scientists estimated them to be around 95% safer than tobacco cigarettes.
In recent years, a huge number of studies have been carried out into electronic cigarettes. One of the largest, a survey of over thousands of vapers, found huge benefits to people switching from tobacco cigarettes to electronic cigarettes.
They found that their sense of smell and taste had drastically improved, their endurance levels were much higher even after only one months use of an e-cigarette and overall their health had improved.

3) Do e-cigarettes work and will they help you stop smoking?

In short, yes they can help you to stop or decrease your smoking habit.
At TCcigs, we have found that the key to quitting smoking with the help of an e-cig is finding the correct set-up and a liquid you that enjoy using! If you pick up a flavour that you dislike, you probably aren’t going to use it, so don’t be afraid to try new flavours, especially if it smells good.  We highly recommend coming down to the store and asking us to help you choose a flavour.  We know the ins and outs of all the different flavour and which ones will best suit your new system best.   Similarly with thousands of customers…we understand which are the most popular and the latest and greatest liquids to hit the market.

4) Will vaping save me money?

Yes it can, although it will depend where you live and how much traditional cigarettes cost in your area.  Many people who have made the switch to e cigarettes, turn into a hobby and enjoy collecting e-cigarette devices.  With the right starter kit and a mind set on saving cash, you can definitely save a significant amount of money when you make the switch to vaping.

5) Will my E-cigarette battery blow up?

The number one cause of e-cig battery incidents is using the wrong charger with an electronic cigarette battery or miss using them.  The worst culprit seems to be cheap wall chargers.  Not only does charging with the wrong charger lead to the risk of an incident, it will also invalidate all warranties and liabilities from the supplier.
If you buy from a reputable supplier both the battery and the charger will come with overcharge protection.

Remember:
1. Do not use a damaged battery.
2. Keep batteries away from extreme heat or cold.
3. Keep batteries out of direct sunlight.

6) How many "drags" should I take?

Generally when you smoke you’ll probably find that you finish your cigarette, whether you want to or not.  Ironically, the with the generally high price of cigarettes (which are supposed to act as a deterrent to smoking) means that smokers don’t want to waste them! Yet some research has suggest that the very first puff or two is all you need to satisfy a craving.

Using an e-cigarette, in general, you’ll probably find you take fewer puffs than you do with a traditional cigarette, but more often, as you can satisfy your nicotine cravings without having to waste a whole cigarette!
If you are worried about how much liquid you are using, come and ask us for advice. You might be surprised!!

7) Can I use an electronic cigarette in non-smoking areas?

Typically yes, more often than not you can.
But you should always ask before you start, especially if you are inside a building. Most establishments will have their own guidelines and we must respect these. If you are allowed to use your E-cig indoors, make sure you don’t keep blowing the vapour into other peoples faces, this could offend them and its not very nice. Just be mindful of others. Especially when using DL devices!

8) Is it OK to smoke and vape at the same time?

There’s no real evidence that smoking cigarettes and vaping at the same time is any worse than just smoking tobacco although the greatest health benefits are seen when people stop smoking tobacco completely, so quitting smoking should be the goal.

Some people manage to switch completely to vaping quickly, while others take a little time. You may have to try a number of different e-cigarettes and e-liquids before you find one that helps you to stop smoking completely, but this is quite normal!

9) Is second-hand vapour dangerous?

Unlike second-hand smoke from cigarettes – which is known to cause cancer– there’s no evidence that second-hand e-cigarette vapour is dangerous to others. Some studies have found traces of toxic chemicals in second-hand vapour, but at such low levels that they’re not harmful to those around you.

E-cigarettes aren’t recommended for use by non-smokers or children!

10) How much should I invest in my initial set-up?

This depends on what you are looking for and whether you are looking to go DL or MTL, the prices will vary depending on battery size, tank capacity and style.

A lot of people tend to start of small, and work there way up to a bigger system that offers more vapour and/or flavour. To start off you shouldn’t need to spend more than 25-35 pounds on a MTL system including liquid.
Others like to jump straight into the deep end and go for a full blown-out DL system and prices will vary on battery size, tank capacity and style.

We recommend staying away from the really cheap initial set-ups and these might contain lower quality batteries and in general won’t function as well as known brand in the vaping industry.
